At Voices of the Fire Council, we believe ancestral traditions carry living wisdom that continues to guide, strengthen, and inspire us today. Stories are more than memories, they are teachings. They connect generations, preserve identity, and remind us that every voice carries wisdom worthy of being remembered.
We believe storytelling, education, cultural remembrance, creativity, and community connection are powerful pathways toward healing, renewal, and belonging. Through these shared experiences, we honor those who came before us while creating space for future generations to carry the fire forward.
Voices of the Fire Council exists to cultivate respectful, inclusive, and community-rooted spaces where stories are shared, voices are honored, and individuals are encouraged to reconnect with themselves, their histories, and one another.
We understand that many Indigenous women have learned to carry their voices with care. For this reason, our gatherings are intentionally designed to build trust gently and respectfully. Participation may take many forms—listening, reflecting, storytelling, creating, or simply being present. Every journey is unique, and every person is welcome to engage at their own pace.
We also recognize that true belonging requires more than access. It requires intention, respect, humility, and care. Our spaces are thoughtfully held to:
- Welcome those who come with open hearts and a genuine desire to learn.
- Center Indigenous voices, stories, and lived experiences.
- Honor and protect moments of healing, cultural practice, and ancestral connection.
- Foster relationships grounded in compassion, curiosity, and mutual respect.
Our hope is that every person who gathers around the Council Fire feels not only included, but truly seen, heard, valued, and rooted in community.
We believe healing begins when people are given space to remember, reconnect, and belong.
We do not gather around the Council Fire to prove our worth. We gather to preserve what is worthy.
